Brew Something Worth Your Time ☕
A simple guide for making great coffee at home
Good coffee doesn’t have to be complicated. Whether you’re just getting into it or refining your daily ritual, this guide is here to help you brew a cup you actually enjoy — no café equipment required.
☀️ Filter Coffee (Drip, Pour-Over, French Press)
This is our favourite everyday approach — smooth, balanced, and easy to repeat.
A simple rule to remember:
1 tablespoon of coffee for every 1 cup of water
If you like a bit more precision:
- 20g coffee → 320ml water (one large mug)
- 30g coffee → 500ml water (two cups)
Grind size: Medium (similar to coarse sand)
This ratio gives you a cup that’s comforting and well-rounded — never too strong, never too weak.
🤍 Espresso at Home
If you’re using an espresso machine, here’s a relaxed starting point that works beautifully with Nessy.
For a classic espresso:
- Use 19g of ground coffee
- Brew until you reach 40g of espresso
- Aim for 25–35 seconds
You’re looking for a shot that’s rich, smooth, and balanced.
🥛 Espresso with Milk (Lattes & Cappuccinos)
For milk drinks, a slightly shorter shot keeps the coffee bold without overpowering.
- 19g ground coffee
- Brew 32–34g espresso
- 25–30 seconds
This helps the coffee shine through the milk while staying soft and comforting.
✨ A Gentle Reminder
Coffee isn’t about perfection — it’s about preference.
If it tastes:
- Too strong → add a splash more water
- Too light → use a little more coffee
Small changes make a big difference.
